Zapier acts as a bridge between Chatonbo and thousands of other applications. When your chatbot captures a lead or a conversation ends, Chatonbo sends a webhook event that Zapier catches and forwards to any app you choose — Google Sheets, HubSpot, Mailchimp, Slack, Salesforce, and more.

Follow these seven steps to connect Chatonbo to Zapier and start automating your chatbot workflows.
Log in to your Chatonbo dashboard and navigate to the bot you want to connect. Go to Bot Settings > Integrations > Webhooks. Enable the webhook toggle. You will see the webhook configuration panel where you can enter an endpoint URL. Keep this tab open — you will paste the Zapier URL here in a later step.
Open zapier.com and log in to your account. Click the "Create Zap" button in the top-left corner. This opens the Zap editor where you will configure your trigger (Chatonbo webhook) and action (the app you want to send data to).
In the trigger step, search for "Webhooks by Zapier" and select it. For the trigger event, choose "Catch Hook". This tells Zapier to listen for incoming HTTP POST requests — which is exactly what Chatonbo sends when a lead is captured or a conversation ends. You can optionally set a child key to filter specific fields, but for most setups you can leave it blank.
After selecting Catch Hook, Zapier generates a unique webhook URL that looks like https://hooks.zapier.com/hooks/catch/123456/abcdef/. Copy this URL to your clipboard. This is the endpoint where Chatonbo will send event data every time a lead is captured or a conversation finishes.
Switch back to your Chatonbo dashboard. In the webhook settings panel (from Step 1), paste the Zapier webhook URL into the Endpoint URL field. Select which events you want to send — typically new_lead and conversation_ended. Click Save to activate the connection.
Go back to Zapier and click "Test trigger". Then open your chatbot widget on your website and send a test message. Share an email address in the conversation to trigger a lead capture event. Zapier should detect the incoming webhook and display the payload data — including the lead name, email, phone, bot ID, and conversation summary. If the test succeeds, you are ready to set up your action.
Now choose what happens when Chatonbo sends data. Click the Action step in Zapier and pick your destination app. Popular choices include Google Sheets (log every lead in a spreadsheet), Gmail (send a notification email to your sales team), HubSpot (create a new contact), or Slack (post an alert to a channel). Map the webhook fields — like lead email, name, phone, and conversation summary — to the corresponding fields in your action app. Turn on your Zap and you are done.
Here are the most common workflows businesses set up with Chatonbo and Zapier. Teams in New York, London, Sydney, and Berlin use these every day.
Automatically log every chatbot lead — name, email, phone, page URL, and conversation summary — into a Google Sheets spreadsheet. Perfect for teams that track leads in spreadsheets before qualifying them.
Send an instant email to your sales team the moment a visitor shares their contact details with the chatbot. Include the full conversation context so reps can follow up with personalized outreach.
Create or update contacts in HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, or Zoho CRM whenever Chatonbo captures a lead. Map custom fields like source page, bot name, and conversation topics.
Post a formatted message to a Slack channel whenever a high-intent lead is captured. Include the visitor name, email, and a link to the full conversation in your Chatonbo dashboard.
